Birmingham’s annual performing arts festival.
Applications for 2020 now open!
*Announcement regarding the ongoing situation*
As you are aware theatres are still closed due to social distancing rules. This has left venues in limbo. This of course leaves us as a theatre festival in the same position. As the festival was due to take place at the end of July we were very much hoping that we’d still be able to go ahead. However this is now looking highly unlikely. Even if venues do get the go ahead to re-open (which is again unlikely) it will not give ourselves or companies time to prepare. Therefore we have had to make the difficult decision of postponing. Obviously we don’t know when venues will be up and running again but as soon as we have an idea we will work on rescheduling the festival at the earliest opportunity. We will keep you posted as soon as we can but in the meantime stay safe.
NEW DEAL FOR 2020!
We are always looking to adapt and improve the festival. This year we to make the festival more accessible we have made two major changes:
- There will no longer be a venue fee! (all venues will be working on box office splits)
- Although we are still working primarily on hour slots, we are now accepting full length pieces.
For our 2020 festival, we are pleased to be supporting Crisis in their campaign to end homelessness.
