Geography of Home is a poetry theatre performance that explores the journey of migrants standing at the edge of two worlds, the many dimensions of home and the expanding nature of belonging. It follows the experience of leaving home after a series of unsettling events, guiding the audience through the emotions of displacement, nostalgia, disillusionment, resilience and finally transformation.
The performance examines the duality of home, the return to self, and the rituals that shape identity. Structured in three acts – “Leaving Home” “Finding Home” “Becoming Home” using poetry, music, and movement it asks: Where is home? Can memory alone be enough to build a home?
Beyond simply narrating the migrant experience, Geography of Home deepens the discourse on migration’s far-reaching emotional and cultural impact. It invites audiences to step into the complexity of uprooting and rebuilding, fostering empathy, introspection, and a renewed understanding of home as both a physical place and an evolving internal landscape.
