South London mum of three, Mercedes Benson takes a break from shopping in Lidl and comes to Birmingham to introduce some of her closest friends. OK… She hardly knows them. But she has it on good authority that they’re alright.
Be dazzled by the sparkling Beverley Vegas, have your life transformed by Carol-Ann, get yourself a lucrative little sideline courtesy of Lady Gallop, ponder life-beyond earth or simply enjoy afternoon tea with Jennifer. A multimedia, character comedy show with songs and sandwiches.
Mercedes can’t wait to visit Birmingham – she never knew London stretched so far north!
“Comic genius … wonderful” (RunRiot.com).
Mercedes’ alter-ego, Gemma Layton, was born and raised in the Black Country but defected to London (sorry) where she now lives. She has been an actress and comedian for more years than she admits to and is a Laughing Horse and Funny Woman semi-finalist. Her music video, “Shopping in Lidl”, recently went viral on the t’interweb…in a good way!
