This Way Madness Lies

Written & performed by Augustus Stephens.

Suffering from a broken heart and disastrously behind in his work, Augustus runs away to the seaside where he escapes his troubles by throwing off the trappings of normality and embracing life at its most raw.

Over the next few days his behaviour becomes stranger and more dangerous until he is admitted to hospital, where his delusions draw him into a frightening fantasy world from which there seems no escape.

Yet amid the paranoia and fear Augustus continues to make us laugh with his eccentric antics, comic ditties and wry observations on himself and us all, baring his body and soul in a riveting true story.

A raw and humorous tale of going mad and coming back again.
