Phileas Fogg, the quintessential Victorian Englishman, is about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime – and you’re invited. Be welcomed by friendly Nubians, mesmerised by exotic Hawaiians, advised by wise Moroccans, and entertained by the energy of Indian Bollywood. Your guides will be Phileas Fogg (Yan Zacks), spurred on by a wager with the members of the Reform Club in London, and, later, the beautiful Indian princess Aouda (Beatriz Olmos).
In a full length show from the Nottingham Dance Collective, led by Tatiana Woolley of the ABC Dance School and Janet Rose of Belly Dance World, you’ll see dance from all over the globe, threaded together by the famous story of Mr Fogg’s fantastic journey. Egypt, China, Brazil, Persia…these are just some of the places he, and you, will discover.
Jules Verne wrote of Mr Fogg: “The man must have travelled everywhere – mentally, if in no other way.” There is another way to travel – through dance. Allow Mr Fogg and the Nottingham Dance Collective to take you on an expressive, cultural and storytelling journey, all around the world and back again.
All tickets £7.
