So you want to be a director? What do they actually do and how do you become one?
Explore & have a go at directing. Examine key issues a director needs to consider when creating a piece of live performance. Investigate the directors role in the creative process such as: Working with actors, casting, transforming the space, working with text, the audience experience, immersive theatre and working with tension, dynamics and visual impact.
This course is taught by Tracey Street – a professionally trained actor/director, fully qualified teacher/trainer of actors & directors & Equity member. she has been training actors for 19 years at drama schools, theatres & colleges and works nationally & internationally as a theatre director. She has recently directed the sold out show A Passion for Birmingham for Old Joint Stock Theatre and runs regular weekly acting & directing workshops at The Old Joint Stock Theatre.
