Learned Friends

Former barrister and Edinburgh Fringe sell out writer and performer, Ginny Davis, lifts the shroud of secrecy  behind the scenes of criminal proceedings in this high stakes legal cliff-hanger which echoes of “Twelve Angry Men” and TV’s “Silk”.  “Learned Friends” gives fascinating insight into criminal proceedings, answering questions frequently put to barristers: Can opposing court advocates be friends? How can a guilty man be defended?

Prosecution and defence counsel await a jury’s verdict in the trial of a high profile football manager. Prosecution counsel is bored, defence counsel preoccupied. Each holds a secret which will pose irreconcilable conflicts as irregularities in the trial emerge. Two high powered professionals employ all the tricks of the trade to get what each of them wants.  Who wins?
