“The Inferno Kid” is a dark comedy play about a former British wrestling star who has fallen on hard times. Now, at just 36, Terry aka ‘The Inferno Kid’ is disabled, destitute and all but forgotten by the wrestling world he sacrificed so much for. All he has left in life are his mind and his marriage and he could lose even those as he struggles to let go of his past. This is an intense and intimate play that pulls no punches on issues of disability, violence, abuse and fame.
The Inferno Kid is presented by emerging Midlands based theatre maker Alex Brockie, who also stars. The play’s central themes of fame, violence and loss present a challenge to conventional moral values. Early audience reactions have been overwhelmingly positive and now, as part of the very first Birmingham Fest, The Inferno Kid will be performed at Birmingham’s Blue Orange Theatre. Do not miss this show!
